Even in educational politics, voices come up to boost scientific and technical education. Therefore catching the interest of young people is very important: this is done best through information and vivid demonstration was the thought of the organizers of „Arena frei für kluge Köpfe“ on September 5th , 2008 in the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt/Main. It was a joint project of the VDI provincial association Hessen, Foundation Polytecknical association, Hessen Chemistry, VCI Hessen and the VDE Rhein-Main under the patronage of the education department and the ministry of education and arts Hessen. More than 100 projects concerning the support of young people in scientific and technical matter had been introduced. Amongst there were information offers for all kinds schools, informations about innovative possibilities of knowledge transfer of technical and scientic matters and many more. The FH Frankfurt had been represented in this „Arena“ through faculty 2: Informatics and engineering sciences. Fortunately the stand had been in an exposed position in the VIP-Area of the Commerzbank-Arena and therefore was proud to have many interested parties: Teachers of every kind of schools but also Parents with their kids of every age. Prof. Dr. Michael Hefter, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Magin, Prof. Dr. Andreas Orth as well as the Engineers Bernd Mohn and Roland Stöss had been available for questions, were passing flayers and gave information about faculty 2. They had been supported actively by Students (from the FH Frankfurt Racing Team) Marianne Kapitza, Jan Reihsig, Silvio Leibmann and Roland Hein. Without them building and depleting the stand would not not have worked out so easily. Faculty 2 was able to exhibit two attractions: The first one was a bike which made it possible for the laboritory of materials to measure the working load on nine Points via W-Lan. On the other side the members of the FH Frankfurt Racing Team had brought their „sportster“ Ribbed 08, with which they had participated on the Formula Student Germany Contest on the Hockenheimring. They were enthusiastically explaining specialties of their car to potential race car drivers of every age. |
